Chargers Novice Coach: Jen Johnson
Coach Jen Johnson started swimming competitively for the
Chambersburg Chargers at the age of five, and grew up in
the Charger program. In 1992, as a 17 year old, she earned
the opportunity to compete at the YMCA National level as a
member of the Chargers.
Coach Jen is now married to her wonderful husband. She has
3 kids: a second grader, a fifth grader, and a high school
senior, one of which is also a member of the Charger team.
Jen helped coach the Mercersburg Aquatic Club for two
seasons, and is now in her second season as the Chargers
novice coach. She brings a wealth of experience and
knowledge to the table, and does an excellent job instructing
her swimmers not only to swim like champions, but to develop
a strong, competitive, and disciplined mind-set.
Some fun facts about Coach Jen:
She loves the beach.
She loves to swim and be in the water.
She loves to coach and teach both the young and not so
young.
She has a dog, two cats, and a turtle.
She lives and coaches by the quote: "If you dream it, you can
achieve it!"
Coach Jen is an invaluable asset to the Charger team and is
a big reason why the age group program was so successful
last season. She is looking forward to continue learning with
her swimmers and coaching the Charger team toward
excellence.
